On Feb. 15, 2021, Changzhou Hydropower Company successfully completed the water dispatching task in the Pearl River Basin during the dry period of 2020-2021.
After receiving the command for water dispatching during the dry season, the Company actively cooperated and strictly followed the order given by the Pearl River Water Resources Commission on Feb. 7, and increased the outflow from 8:00, Feb. 10, to ensure the water supply to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
By 00:00, Feb. 15, with the cooperation of the major upstream hydropower stations, the average outflow reached 2,450 m3/s, with a total of 1.125 billion cubic meters during this dry period, effectively suppressing the salty tide at the mouth of the Pearl River, serving for safety of power grids, ecology and shipping, and providing a guarantee for the people to have a peaceful Spring Festival.
At present, the Company has resumed normal operation and dispatching.
