Mr. Mao Weiming Visits Wuqiangxi Hydropower Plant

On September 2, 2021, Mr. Mao Weiming, Deputy Secretary of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Hunan Province, visited Wuqiangxi Hydropower Plant.

Mr. Mao and his delegation walked to the construction areas of the water intake and foundation pit and the production areas such as the main powerhouse and central control room. Mr. Xia Gang, General Manager of Wuling Power Generation Company, introduced the situation of Yuanshui basin cascade development, reservoir scheduling, flood control, peak-load power supply in summer, green energy development, energy import to Hunan, and construction of Wuqiangxi Hydropower Plant and expansion project.

Mr. Mao affirmed the contributions of Wuling Power Generation Company and Wuqiangxi Hydropower Plant in power supply, flood control, peak-load power supply in summer, energy development and other aspects. He said that Wuqiangxi Hydropower Plant is the outpost of flood control as one of the national key organizations for flood control and dam safety, and Wuling Power Generation Company should adhere to the principle of safetyfirst to safeguard the lives and properties of the people. He hoped that the company could strengthen routine inspection and maintenance to keep the plant in good conditions and ensure its availability for flood control and power generation.It should on the other hand accelerate the development of clean energy to make contributions to the "3060" carbon targets.

The visit was accompanied by Mr. Deng Qunce, Secretary General of Hunan Provincial Government, Mr. Ye Renxiong, Deputy Secretary General of Hunan Provincial Government and Director of General Office of Hunan Provincial Government, Mr. Yan Xuemao, Director of Water Resources Department of Hunan Province, Mr. Xiang Shicong, Director of Research Office of Hunan Province, Mr. Lei Shaoye, Secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, Mr. Li Chunqiu, Mayor of Huaihua City, and the relevant leaders of Yuanling County.
