CPID Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Huawei on Upgrade of Energy Sector
On September 14, 2021, CPID and Huawei signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement at Huawei's headquarters in Shenzhen, to deeply implement the new energy security strategy of "four revolutions and one cooperation", focusing on the "3060" carbon targets and working jointly to promote the green, low-carbon and smart upgrade of the energy sector. Mr. He Xi, Chairman of CPID and Chief Engineer (New Energy) of SPIC, and Mr. Hou Jinlong, Senior Vice President of Huawei and President of Huawei Digital Power, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Mr. Fu Jinsong, Vice President and Acting Chairman of Labor Union of CPID, and Mr. Xing Qing, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power (China) signed the agreement on behalf of CPID and Huawei, respectively.
According to the strategic cooperation agreement, both sides would, by virtue of their respective resources and strengths, promote the innovation and integration of energy technology and digital technology, and carry out strategic cooperation on the application of energy storage technology solutions and smart PV solutions, integrated smart energy, county-wide distributed rooftop PV power, and international business, so as to accelerate energy transition, boost high-quality development, and strive for a green and low-carbon future.
Before the signing ceremony, Mr. He Xi and Mr. Hou Jinlong had a discussion on new power system characteristics, new industry layout, business model innovation, international development, and so on.
Mr. He introduced the strategic development direction of CPID, focusing on new tracks such as energy storage, green transportation, distributed energy, green power trading, county-wide development, and geothermal energy. Mr. He said that with strengths in fund, capital, management and personnel, CPID had been pushing the boundaries of traditional energy and driving green and low-carbon transition. Mr. He hoped to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Huawei and address the difficulties encountered in developing new industries, so as to meet the needs of social and economic development and achieve win-win results.
Mr. Hou said that CPID had distinct advantages in the energy sector, and Huawei Digital Power had technical advantages in integrating digital technology and power electronics technology, providing a wealth of integrated smart energy services and solutions based on customer needs. The cooperation between the two sides has a good foundation and enjoys a broad space. By leveraging their respective strengths, both sides will promote the implementation of distributed PV power, rural revitalization, urban construction and other energy scenarios, and speed up the green and low-carbon transition of the energy sector, thus contributing to China's ambitious "3060" carbon targets.
During the discussion and exchange, both sides also introduced their basic situation, strategic cooperation direction, and cooperation plan.
