Mr. He Xi Meets with Mr. Wang Zhonglin, Deputy Secretary of CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Governor of Hubei Province

On September 15, 2021, Mr. He Xi, Chairman of CPID and Chief Engineer (New Energy) of SPIC, met with Mr. Wang Zhonglin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Governor of Hubei Province, in Wuhan, and they held a discussion on in-depth cooperation between CPID and Hubei Province to promote the development of clean and low-carbon energy industry and secure clean energy supply for the social and economic development of Hubei Province.

Mr. Wang extended a warm welcome to Mr. He and his delegation, and expressed his gratitude to CPID for its substantial support on the social and economic development of Hubei during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Wang said that, under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, Hubei had made painstaking efforts and seen steady economic growth and improved quality and efficiency since early 2021, and CPID had made important contributions to making this possible.

With outstanding geographical advantages, rich scientific and educational resources, and sound industrial foundation, the whole Hubei Province was striving to "find the right positioning, play a leading role, and create a new era", to establish a modern industrial system driven by strategic emerging industries, advanced manufacturing, and modern service industries. As a major energy consumer with huge electricity demand, Hubei was accelerating its transition to green and low-carbon energy, to create a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system.

To this end, CPID was expected to accelerate its projects in progress and make more investment in Hubei, so as to boost the development of clean energy industry in the province. Mr. Wang also said that Hubei would create a favorable business environment and provide high-quality services for CPID and other enterprises in Hubei.

Mr. He Xi first expressed the greetings from Mr. Qian Zhimin, Chairman of SPIC, and extended his heartfelt thanks to the Government of Hubei Province for their care and support to SPIC and CPID in Hubei.

Mr. He talked about the quick unit start-up of China Power Dabieshan Power Generation Company to secure the electricity supply to Wuhan during the COVID-19 pandemic, spoke highly of the achievements made by Hubei Province in COVID-19 containment and post-pandemic recovery, and introduced the business development of CPID in Hubei. Mr. He said that CPID would fully exert its advantages in technology and resources to improve the construction and operation of its Hubei-based projects. Additionally, CPID would better support Hubei's "14th Five-Year Plan" for energy, explore the way to achieve the "3060" carbon targets, and highly engage in the development of clean, low-carbon energy and green industries in Hubei, so as to secure the energy and electricity supply and help accelerate the post-pandemic recovery and high-quality development of Hubei Province.
