Mr. He Xi Visits Tencent

On September 14, 2021, Mr. He Xi, Chairman of CPID and Chief Engineer (New Energy) of SPIC, visited Tencent Holdings Limited at Tencent's Headquarters in Shenzhen Binhai Building, and had a discussion with Mr. Zhong Yuanhe, Vice President of Tencent Cloud, and Mr. Cheng Huajun, General Manager of Tencent Smart Energy. Mr. Fu Jinsong, Vice President of CPID, attended the meeting.

Mr. He introduced the history, business overview, and overseas business presence of CPID. He said that CPID was actively exploring the way of transition and development and creating new businesses, to help relieve the dependence on traditional fossil energy and build a safe energy supply system. He also remarked that the new electric power system would be distributed and smart with high penetration of energy storage and micro-grids, and CPID would build its strength in integrated smart energy, electricity replacement, and other fields. Mr. He hoped that both sides would cooperate flexibly to promote the implementation of clean energy supply projects with Internet thinking, and build a "zero-carbon" data center demonstration project.

Mr. Cheng recognized the good cooperation practice between Tencent and SPIC. He said that Tencent, with Tencent Internet Data Center as one of the largest data centers in China, would take the lead in carbon neutrality and have a high demand for green electricity and clean energy. Mr. Cheng hoped that both sides would cooperate deeply in the construction of "zero-carbon" data center, digital energy, digital village, carbon neutrality, and other fields as Tencent had always been committed to the hybrid development of digital technology and integrated smart energy.

The two sides introduced their cooperation schemes and discussed the cooperation mode in respect of the construction of the "zero carbon" data center and smart energy enterprises, as well as rural revitalization.

Mr. He and his delegation visited Tencent Exhibition Hall before the meeting and learned about the development and achievements of the whole Tencent industry, for instance the Tencent Big Data Center, Tencent Cloud, and Tencent AI.

Mr. Niu Guiyu, Deputy Director of CPID, Mr. Zhai Yongping, Senior Consultant of Tencent Strategic Development, and heads of CPID Development Department, Strategy Department, Marketing Department, China Power Smart Integrated Energy Co., Ltd., Xinyuanzhi Energy Storage Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Tencent IDC Platform, and Cloud Smart Energy, attended the meeting.
