Macheng 1000 MW Class Multi-Energy Complementary Renewable Energy Base Project Approved

On October 15, 2021, with the issuance of the Notice on Announcing Grid Parity Renewable Energy Projects in 2021 by Hubei Energy Administration, Macheng 1000 MW Class Multi-Energy Complementary Renewable Energy Base Project officially got approved, and was formally included in the list of 1000 MW class new energy base projects in Hubei Province. Besides, the project obtained a 400 MW construction quota for 2021.

This project is intended to improve the flexibility of coal-fired units of Dabieshan Power Generation Company by providing peaking capacity. It is connected to Hubei provincial power grid through the 500 kV transmission line of Dabieshan Power Generation Company. Co-funded by CPID and Macheng Energy Investment and Development Co., Ltd., the project has a planned capacity of 1300 MW and is scheduled to commence in 2021.

Dabieshan Power Generation Company is the first in Hubei Province to implement "multi-energy complementary" projects. The project is of great significance for implementing the "3060" target and CPID's "Greenland" initiative as well as for improving the competitiveness of Dabieshan Power Generation Company.
