Mr. He Xi Calls on Mr. Hou Wenyu

On November 2, 2021, Mr. He Xi, Chairman of CPID and Chief Engineer (New Energy) of SPIC, called on Mr. Hou Wenyu, Chairman of China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. in Shanghai. Both sides had an in-depth exchange and reached a consensus on cooperation in the "3060" target and power market reform.

Mr. He firstly reviewed the history of cooperation between both sides in direct power supply and railroad transportation, and introduced the basic situation of SPIC and CPID as well as their industrial advantages in new energy, integrated smart energy and energy storage. Mr. He said that China Railway Shanghai, as the busiest railway company in China in terms of passenger and freight transportation, operated railways in the Yangtze River Delta region with a large demand for electric power, and was highly compatible with CPID's integrated smart energy, hydrogen energy and energy storage businesses in East China. Mr. He hoped that both sides would strengthen communication with each other and give full play to their respective advantages, to expand cooperation in the fields of integrated smart energy services, energy storage and power market trading, reduce energy costs, promote the decarbonization of railway energy, and jointly implement the "3060" target.

Mr. Hou highly appreciated the long-term good cooperation between both sides and briefly introduced the industrial development and future planning of China Railway Shanghai. Mr. Hou said that railway enterprises had actively changed the concept of energy use with the reform of power market and the proposal of the "3060" target, and hoped that both sides could jointly explore the development of new energy and integrated smart energy projects in passenger and freight yards, large workshops and land resources along the railway, so as to achieve win-win development.

Mr. Gao Song, Deputy General Manager of China Railway Shanghai, and the department leaders in charge of general administration, power supply, planning and statistics, land and property, business and development of China Railway Shanghai; Mr. Xue Xinchun, Vice President of CPID, and the department leaders in charge of marketing and development; and the manager of Pingwei Power Generation Company attended the meeting.
