SPIC completes grid connection of Shandong Peninsula South No.3 300 MW Offshore Wind Power Project at full capacity

At 13:58 on December 16, 2021, SPIC Shandong Peninsula South No.3 300 MW Offshore Wind Power Project was successfully connected to the grid at full capacity. The project was developed and constructed by SPIC Haiyang Offshore Wind Power Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CPID, marking SPIC's breakthrough of developing marine energy resources.

Thanks to the great support and unified arrangement of governments at all levels of Shandong Province and SPIC, the construction team of this project had overcome many difficulties encountered during the construction, such as unavailability of vessels and machineries, large water depth, long distance between the site and the shore, variable time windows, and recurrent waves of COVID-19 pandemic. By taking a lot of measures, such as high-level coordination meeting, joint meeting of general Party branches, on-site decision-making team, and Party member squad, the construction team gave full play to the core team spirit and achieved all the major milestones successfully.

This project took only 217 days from commencement to grid connection at full capacity, setting a new record in the surge of offshore wind power installation in this year, with the contract signing, equipment manufacturing, construction and grid connection being completed in the same year.

By taking the successful completion of this project as an opportunity, CPID would continue to pursue high quality development and speed up clean energy projects, with a view to make greater contributions to China's "3060" target and SPIC's new development strategy.
