CPID Wins Five Energy Storage Demonstration Projects in Shandong Province for 2022

Recently, Shandong Energy Administration announced the energy storage demonstration projects for 2022. Xinyuan Smart Energy Storage Co., Ltd. has achieved leapfrog development in the Shandong energy storage market, and won three energy storage demonstration projects, namely Weishan 100 MW/200 MWh Energy Storage Peaking Power Project, Yishui 300 MW/600 MWh Independent Energy Storage Demonstration Project (Phase I), and Tengzhou 300 MW/600 MWh Independent Energy Storage Demonstration Project (Phase I).

Weishan 100 MW/200 MWh Energy Storage Peaking Power Project was selected as the first in the final evaluation among the energy storage demonstration projects in Shandong Province for 2022. After commercial operation, the project will firstly solve the problem of new energy consumption in the West Shandong power grid, and at the same time regulate the power load balance in Weishan County and even Jining City. The Weishan project will strive to be the first put into operation in this batch.

Yishui 300 MW/600 MWh Independent Energy Storage Demonstration Project (Phase I) is scheduled to be ready for construction by the end of May 2022. After commercial operation, the project will participate in Shandong's electricity spot market and provide capacity leasing services for Shandong's new energy grid connection, helping achieve the goals of new energy consumption and carbon neutrality.

Tengzhou 300 MW/600 MWh Independent Energy Storage Demonstration Project (Phase I) has been shortlisted and is steadily advancing the procedures related to land acquisition and grid connection. The project is scheduled to be constructed in June 2022 and connected to the grid by the end of November 2022. The Tengzhou project will become the largest independent energy storage power station in Zaozhuang City after it is commissioned, contributing to Zaozhuang City as the "lithium capital of the north".

Shandong Power Generation Company won two energy storage demonstration projects, namely Dongming 100 MW/200 MWh Independent Energy Storage Demonstration Project and Zhucheng 100 MW/200 MWh Independent Energy Storage Demonstration Project, contributing to the high-quality development of CPID in Shandong Province.

CPID will continue to boost the development of energy storage projects in Shandong Province, give full play to the first-mover advantage in the energy storage industry, build gigawatt-class energy storage projects, and establish a linkage mechanism, to participate in Shandong's electricity spot market as a good leader in building a new power system in Shandong Province.
