Wuqiangxi 5G Project Wins Hunan Provincial Award

Recently, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hunan Province announced the List of Hunan 100 Digital Infrastructure Landmark Projects (2022), in which the Project of Construction and Application of 5G Cloud Collaborative Intelligent System in Hydropower Project proposed by Wuqiangxi Expansion Project Office was successfully included.

Since the construction and application of the project, digital transformation has been carried out in hydropower engineering. The first 5G SA exclusive engineering application transmission network has been established in China's hydropower industry, and a multi-scenario and fully-connected 5G high-speed industrial Internet has been built to form a "data highway" based on the 5G IoT architecture and provide high-speed and high-quality network support for the collaborative control of digital engineering of hydropower projects. The 5G+BIM+Cloud has strengthened the digital control of Wuqiangxi Expansion Project, realized effective scheduling of construction resources and reduced warehouse costs. The utilization rate and reliability index of construction equipment have been promoted, to enhance construction efficiency. The intelligence of project control has been promoted to facilitate lean construction of the project.

The 5G-based digital construction results will not only help the commissioning of Wuqiangxi Expansion Project on schedule, but also accelerate the project construction, providing useful experience for the application of 5G in hydropower projects.
