First 3,000 t Electric Container Ship Launched in China! CPID Boosts Zero Carbon Demonstration Shipping

Recently, A ceremony was held in Wuhu City, Anhui Province, to launch China's first 3,000 t electric container ship "Ganghang Chuantu 01", jointly designed and developed by CPID's green electric transportation arm together with Anhui Provincial Port and Shipping Group, Anhui Chuantu Digital Sci-Tech Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wuhan University of Technology and other well-known universities and enterprises, marking the official service of the first inland river high-quality zero carbon shipping line.

The ship has a length of 73 m, a width of 13.8 m and a depth of 4.6 m, a loading capacity of 105 TEU and a design speed of about 12 km/h. It is equipped with two highly safe LiFePO4 batteries, which can meet the demand of 290 km round-trip range. CPID's green electric transportation arm has installed battery charging and swapping facilities at Wuhu Port and Hefei Port for the demonstration shipping line.

The ship will bring great environmental and economic benefits. With zero emissions and no pollution, the ship can save energy costs by about 35% compared with traditional oil-fueled ships for the same voyage, while greatly shortening the voyage time and increasing the overall transport efficiency by about 15%.

CPID has a first-mover advantage in green transportation and clean energy. At present, CPID has formed a nationwide green and zero-carbon land freight ecology through the construction of battery swap stations for heavy trucks and charging stations, maximized the synergistic effect of ecosystem partners, expanded the application scenarios of electric energy substitution, actively created a new zero-carbon waterway transportation ecology, and promoted the high-quality development of China's inland waterway transportation industry.
