Wuling Power's "PV + Ecological Management" Is Reported by Xinhua News Agency

Recently, Xinhua News Agency reported Wuling Power's successful experience and classic practice of "PV + ecological management" in Yuding PV Power Station with the title of "PV Power Station Invites Sheep to Eat Grass", which received 1.5 million hits and attracted wide attention from the society.

Yuding PV Power Station is located in Yuding Township, Zhongning County, Zhongwei City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with a total area of 13,200 mu and a total installed capacity of 550 MW. At the early stage of the power station construction, Wuling Power Generation Company took the way of simultaneous construction and ecological management, sowing grass seeds suitable for desert growth and planting drought-tolerant Chinese wolfberry saplings on both sides of the road at the same time as installing PV modules, sowing grass seeds covering an area of nearly 10,000 mu and planting nearly 1,000 saplings. With the completion of the power station construction, the grass seeds and saplings also grew up. Because of PV module shading and the water from regular module cleaning, the vegetation is getting better and better, playing a role in wind and sand control, and the on-site environment has also been greatly improved. This operation model has changed the desert into a high-quality pasture, with the income of the local herders increased, achieving "green power + ecology + livelihood" triple win.

In recent years, Wuling Power Generation Company has been focusing on clean energy development and innovation-driven growth, with the installed PV power capacity increasing from 40 MW in 2016 to 2,070 MW in 2022, firmly implementing CPID’s strategy.
