CPID's First Integrated PV Power Demonstration Project for Sand Control and Herding Boost in Mongolia Operates at Full Capacity Successfully
At 11:46 on March 30, 2023, 100 MW PV Power Demonstration Project for Sand Control and Herding Boost in Dalad Banner of Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China achieved full capacity operation.
The Project is CPID's first new energy project in Inner Mongolia, and was selected as one of the first batch of key demonstration projects promoted by SPIC in the six emerging industries and one of Ordos' key demonstration projects in 2022.
The Project is expected to supply about 180 GWh of clean electricity, save about 62,000 tons of standard coal and reduce about 164,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year, with significant environmental, economic and social benefits, and can realize the efficient convergence of economic development and environmental protection.
In order to ensure the effect of sand control and herding boost, the project team has innovated and facilitated the joint sand control model with livestock enterprises. The Project can provide pasture for livestock enterprises, and the livestock enterprises feed the park vegetation with the fertilizer produced in the feeding process. The project team will continue to promote the implementation of the "PV power + ecological treatment + forest and grass planting" model, and complete the integrated development of regional PV power, animal husbandry, agriculture and tourism by planting suitable sandy plants.
