Wuling Power First Integrated Smart Energy Project in Bangladesh Begins Construction
On April 3, 2023, Wuling Power Corporation Ltd., started the construction of its first integrated smart energy project in Bangladesh, a 55 MW rooftop PV power + 5 MW energy storage project. The Project is another breakthrough in the integrated smart energy sector in Bangladesh after CPID invested in the construction of its first wind power project in Bangladesh.
The Project makes full use of the abundant solar resources and good investment policy in Bangladesh, and realizes the integrated energy model of PV power, EV charging and energy storage by building rooftop PV power, configuring a certain percentage of energy storage facilities and allocating EVs and charging piles in the parks. Zero Carbon Limited, a joint venture held by Wuling Power Corporation Ltd. with participation of local enterprises, is responsible for the construction, management and operation of the Project.
The Project is divided into three phases, mainly located in the industrial plant areas in Dhaka and Chittagong. The first phase was kicked off, with proposed 446 kW PV modules covering a 2,000 m2 rooftop area in Dhaka Integrated Smart Zero Carbon Industrial Park, adopting China's advanced building integrated PV (BIPV) technology.
The Project will explore the "Tianshu-1" energy management system in Bangladesh, realize the first application of China's advanced green energy technology and concept in Bangladesh, and provide solutions to the problems of frequent power outages and green power certification faced by local industries and businesses. The Project will achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation through power management optimization, and play a demonstration role for Bangladesh to achieve zero carbon emissions from industrial park plants.
