Mr. He Xi Meets with Mr. He Zhiwei, Chairman of Candela

On May 19, 2023, Mr. He Xi, Chairman of CPID and Chief Engineer (New Energy) of SPIC, met with Mr. He Zhiwei, Chairman of Candela (Shenzhen) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Candela"), and his delegation at CPID's headquarters. Mr. Fu Jinsong, Deputy President and Chairman of Labor Union of CPID, attended the meeting. Both sides had a comprehensive exchange on the flywheel energy storage solution and had an in-depth discussion on the next step of cooperation.

Mr. He Xi expressed his welcome to Mr. He Zhiwei and his delegation, and introduced CPID's practical achievements in undertaking China's major energy strategy mission, implementing China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, and practicing the green and low-carbon transition and development and the transformation of technological achievements in emerging industries. Mr. He Xi said that Candela's technological achievements in the field of flywheel energy storage are outstanding with broad application prospects, and CPID is willing to cooperate with Candela in the fields of power conversion system (PCS) development and building innovative demonstration power stations with composite energy storage in power industry.

Mr. He Zhiwei introduced Candela's basic situation and business, and focused on the flywheel energy storage demonstration project built in cooperation with SPIC Yunnan International Power Investment Co., Ltd. Mr. He Zhiwei said that Candela has rich experience and is still making breakthroughs in the life-cycle safety management of flywheel energy storage systems, the research, development and design of core components, the engineering capability of flywheel energy storage systems, power frequency regulation, etc., and both sides can achieve complementary win-win cooperation in new energy business and emerging industries, looking forward to cooperating with CPID in primary frequency regulation service for thermal power and new energy power stations, composite energy storage, the application for national or provincial level key laboratories/innovation research and development centers for energy storage.
