Donggang and Gaoqing Energy Storage Projects are Listed as Preferred New-Type Energy Storage Projects

Recently, Donggang Energy Storage Project in Rizhao and Gaoqing Energy Storage Project in Zibo, to be developed by CPID Shandong Energy Development Co., Ltd., were listed as preferred projects in the List of Shandong 2023 Planned New-Type Energy Storage Projects.

Donggang Energy Storage Project has a planned capacity of 100 MW/202 MWh; Gaoqing Energy Storage Project has a planned capacity of 202 MW/404 MWh, with 100 MW included in the list. These two projects are equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries and some redox flow batteries, and outdoor container type battery systems and power conversion systems.

The preferred projects in the list will enjoy the policy benefits for demonstration projects after completion on schedule according to the declaration requirements. The projects will further help CPID to rapidly implement new energy projects in Shandong Province, and lay the foundation for the subsequent capacity leasing of new energy market-oriented projects.

To date, CPID Shandong Energy Development Co., Ltd. has constructed and commissioned three independent energy storage power stations located in Haiyang, Dongming and Zhucheng, respectively, with a total installed capacity of 300 MW. Haiyang Energy Storage Power Station won the award of "China's Quality Electric Power Project" in 2023, as the first independent energy storage power station in China. Peninsula South #3 Wind Farm has realized China's first integrated offshore wind and energy storage power transaction, and the charged and discharged energy of the supporting energy storage systems has been given the market-oriented tariffs, successfully exploring the new mode of joint energy transactions for "new energy projects + supporting energy storage systems".
