Mr. He Xi Attends CGS's New Energy Forum and Delivers Keynote Speech

On September 8, 2023, China Galaxy Securities (CGS) held a new energy forum in Nanjing. Mr. He Xi, Chairman of CPID and Chief Engineer (New Energy) of SPIC, was invited to attend the forum and delivered a keynote speech on "Future Development of Clean Energy".

In his keynote speech, Mr. He pointed out that China has achieved remarkable results in clean energy development and green and low-carbon energy system transition, PV power, wind power, clean energy equipment manufacturing, new-type energy storage and other clean energy industries are booming, while clean energy science and technology innovation and model innovation continues to make breakthroughs, and virtual power plants, hydrogen energy and other emerging industries show a thriving trend of development.

Regarding the future development of clean energy, Mr. He put forward the following key words.

First, energy security. Energy security is related to the overall and strategic issues of the national economic and social development, green and low-carbon transition is the key to achieve the intrinsic security of energy, and the rapid construction of new power systems is an important tool to ensure national energy security. We should break through the bottlenecks in the construction of new power systems as soon as possible, and better promote the revolution in energy production and consumption.

Second, scientific and technological innovation. At present, the high-quality development of clean energy still needs to solve the key problems related to core technology innovation, large-share consumption, stability and reliability, and scientific and technological innovation is the most important way to solve the problems and has core competitiveness, as the only driving force for the sustainable development of clean energy, the only key to solve the problem of clean energy development, and also the first driving force for China's intrinsic energy security.

Third, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. Since the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals were first proposed in 2020, China has established the "1+N" policy system for the goals, various industries have also sped up the green transition and continued to optimize the industrial structure, but to cope with the global carbon peaking is still faced with a number of challenges. We should actively think about, and continue to explore paths and ways of clean energy development, focusing on green development, to create an efficient and synergistic resilience industry chain.

Fourth, opening-up and cooperation. In the context of the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial change, it is more necessary to strengthen international cooperation in all aspects and integrate us into the global clean energy science and technology innovation, for mutual benefit and cooperation with various countries, contributing China's wisdom to the recovery of the world economy in the post-epidemic era.

The new energy industry has become increasingly prominent in the context of global development of low-carbon economy and concern for ecological environment, and is playing an important role in guaranteeing China's energy security and promoting high-quality economic development.
