Wuling's First Centralized Wind Power Project in Bangladesh was Connected to the Grid and Started Power Generation

Recently, the first centralized wind power project in Bangladesh, the Cox's Bazar Wind Power Project, undertaken by Wuling Power Corporation Ltd., a subsidiary of CPID, was connected to the grid and started power generation.

The Cox's Bazar Wind Power Project has an installed capacity of 66 MW, with a total of 22 wind turbines. After grid connection, it can provide more than 145 million kWh of green electricity per year, reduce coal consumption by 44,600 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 109,200 tons, and meet the electricity demand of 100,000 households.

The operation of the project will play a significant role in increasing the proportion of renewable energy, promoting new energy consumption, energy conservation and emission reduction in Bangladesh. The construction of this project has contributed to more than 1,500 local jobs and, after its operation, the operation staff are mainly comprised by the local employees, which is significant for improving the local employment level.
