Yuanping Biomass-to-Gas Project Selected for National Renewable Energy Pilot Demonstration Project List

Recently, the Yuanping biomass-to-gas project of SPIC Shanxi Company was selected for the national renewable energy pilot demonstration project list.

The project is the first in China to combine biomass-to-gas with calcined alumina. Using advanced biomass-to-gas technology, the project converts biomass resources into biomass gas. The project can consume about 120,000 tons of agricultural straw per year, replace about 40 million cubic meters of natural gas, reduce CO₂ emissions by about 80,000 tons, effectively solve the problem of agricultural and forestry waste disposal, provide clean and efficient renewable energy supply to surrounding areas, create new advantages with new quality productivity, promote high-quality development of the agricultural economy, and help China achieve its "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goals.
