Shandong's First Inland Shipping Smart Energy Project Connected to the Grid

On June 12, 2024, the first inland shipping smart energy project in Shandong, developed by SPIC Shandong Energy Development Co., Ltd. (SPIC Shandong Energy), was successfully connected to the grid at Gaoqing Port. This project is a crucial step in creating a green, zero-carbon port environment.

SPIC Shandong Energy has established a comprehensive smart energy demonstration project at the port, including charging and battery swapping stations, shore power, charging piles, electric vessels, battery-swap electric heavy-duty trucks, distributed PV, distributed wind power facilities, and heating and cooling systems, aiming to create Shandong's first zero-carbon inland shipping environment. The project has been designated as SPIC's benchmark project in emerging industries. It will provide clean energy to the port, support grid peak shaving, optimize energy usage, reduce costs, ensure self-sufficient and green energy use, and create a green transportation network.
