2024 National Transportation and Energy Integration Development Conference Successfully Held

On October 11 to 12, 2024, the 2024 National Transportation and Energy Integration Development Conference was successfully held at the Guoce International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing. The event was co-hosted by the China Communications and Transportation of Association, Changsha University of Science & Technology, China Communications Construction Company Limited, China Power International Development Limited ("China Power"), and the China Electric Power Research Institute. Over 600 participants from academia, research institutes, and enterprises across the transportation, energy, electricity, and economics sectors engaged in in-depth discussions about the integration of transportation and energy through a main forum and several sub-forums.

Keynote addresses were delivered by notable figures, including Mr. Xiang Haiping, Chief Engineer of the National Energy Administration, Mr. Li Chuangang, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Planning Department of the Ministry of Transport, and Mr. Li Gang, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Communications and Transportation of Association. Esteemed academics such as Academicians Zheng Jianlong and Yan Xinping of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Ouyang Minggao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also gave keynote speeches. During the event, Mr. Wu Chungeng, Chief Planner of the Ministry of Transport and Director of the Comprehensive Planning Department, attended to offer guidance and held discussions with industry experts and scholars.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Gao Ping, President and Executive Director of China Power, highlighted the company's commitment to becoming a technology-driven green and low-carbon energy provider. He emphasized China Power's role in integrating new energy technology into transportation, particularly in the areas of near-zero carbon infrastructure, clean low-carbon transport, and intelligent zero-carbon management. At present, the development of green and low-carbon initiatives has reached a historic opportunity. Mr. Gao expressed China Power's readiness to collaborate with all sectors to accelerate the integration of transportation and energy and create a shared, cooperative, and prosperous ecosystem.

At the main forum, Shanghai Qiyuan Green Power Technology Co., Ltd. ("Qiyuan Green Power") shared their experiences in low-carbon transportation development on Exploring the Path of Low-carbon Development in the Whole Scenario of Transportation Energy Use, showcasing innovations such as battery-swap electric heavy-duty trucks and electric vessels. Meanwhile, XYZ Storage unveiled its latest product, the Galaxy series, a supermolecule fully-immersed energy storage solution for industrial and commercial use, heralding a new era of safer, longer-lasting, and smarter energy storage systems.

On the morning of October 11, the launch ceremony for the National Transportation and Energy Integration Industry-Academia-Research Alliance, initiated by Changsha University of Science & Technology, took place. China Power joined as one of the founding members. The alliance now consists of 41 member organizations, including eight universities and various research institutions and enterprises in the transportation and energy sectors.

On October 12, two sub-forums were held: Development and Innovation of Battery-Swap Electric Heavy-duty Trucks and Innovation in Electric Vessel Development, hosted by China Power in collaboration with Qiyuan Green Power and Qihang New Energy. The battery-swap forum focused on industry trends, technical advancements, and standards for battery-swapping facilities, with discussions on the use of supramolecular materials in transportation-energy integration. Presentations by Qiyuan Green Power and Xinyuan Zhong'an explored low-carbon freight solutions and the application of supramolecular materials in safety and fire prevention, respectively. The electric vessel forum delved into the future of electric ships, including technology, policy support, regulatory frameworks, and green financing options. Qihang New Energy presented a keynote on its comprehensive green ship solutions.

Throughout the conference, China Power set up an exhibition booth showcasing technologies from its subsidiaries, including XYZ Storage, ColorFuLead Power, Qiyuan Green Power, Qihang New Energy, and Xinyuan Zhong'an.
