China Power Launches Key Laboratory for Fire Safety in Electrochemical Energy

On November 14, 2024, China Power inaugurated the Key Laboratory for Fire Safety in Electrochemical Energy, a joint innovation initiative under the Ministry of Emergency Management, at Zhongguancun Fangshan Park in Beijing.

The launch ceremony marked the establishment of the laboratory and the formation of its first management committee. Certificates of appointment were issued to committee members, and the laboratory's official logo was unveiled. The laboratory is dedicated to addressing the global challenge of frequent fire and explosion incidents in electrochemical energy systems. Its research focuses on practical and innovative technologies, while also engaging in foundational studies. Bridging the energy and emergency response sectors, it is the first large-scale specialized laboratory established by a national ministry to research and implement full-cycle safety technologies for electrochemical energy storage.
