China Power Launches Key Laboratory of Electrochemical Energy Safety

In mid-November 2024, the inauguration ceremony of "Key Laboratory of Electrochemical Energy Safety, Ministry of Emergency Management" and the establishment ceremony of the first management committee were held at Zhongguancun Fangshan Park in Beijing. Leaders from relevant committees and bureaus in Fangshan District, along with representatives from partner organizations and the laboratory's first incubated enterprises, attended the event.

The meeting announced the official launch of the laboratory, unveiled its logo, and marked the formation of the first management committee. The logo symbolizes the close collaboration among partner units and their passion for work and shared commitment to tackling the safety challenges in electrochemical energy applications.

The laboratory aims to address the global issue of frequent fire and explosion incidents related to electrochemical energy. Its research focuses primarily on practical technical innovation, supplemented by foundational studies, spanning the fields of energy and emergency management. It is the first large-scale professional laboratory in China established by national authorities to study safety technologies and real-world applications in electrochemical energy storage.
