China's Northernmost Wind Power Project Goes Online
On January 9, 2025, Huma 100 MW Wind Power Project in Heilongjiang Province — the northernmost and coldest wind power project in China — was fully connected to the grid. This marks the first successful launch of a full-capacity renewable energy project in 2025 for the SPIC Beijing Company.

The project consists of 20 wind turbines, each with a 5 MW capacity, a 160-meter tower, and 93-meter-long blades designed to withstand low temperatures and ice. With an annual output of 230 GWh, the project is expected to save 77,000 tons of standard coal and reduce CO₂ emissions by 188,000 tons annually.
As a pioneer in clean energy development in Huma County, the project represents a significant technological and environmental achievement. It is set to drive economic growth in the Greater Khingan Range and advance the region's energy transition.
