Cihang Offshore Wind Farm Awarded CEC's 2024 4A-Level Wind Farm Title
In the recently announced results of the China Electricity Council's (CEC) 2024 annual wind power operational benchmarking, Cihang Offshore Wind Farm was awarded the "AAAA-Level" wind farm designation, the only offshore wind farm in Guangdong Province to receive the 4A rating.

Qianzhan Wind Power Company focuses on equipment safety management and continuously exploits the power generation potential of its turbines. Every year, it conducts thorough inspections to identify equipment hazards and eliminates them promptly. It takes an innovative approach of maintaining individual records for wind turbines and troubleshooting equipment in a targeted manner. It has established a dedicated team for targeted troubleshooting. Focusing on critical components like gearbox and generator, and through a "daily inspection, weekly tracking, monthly summary" mechanism, it carries out targeted rectification of batch defects. Equipment availability increased by 3.28% and wind energy curtailment decreased by 52.77% year-on-year, significantly improving equipment reliability. Besides, the company strengthened preventive maintenance, and worked closely with manufacturers to develop effective maintenance plans based on equipment operational characteristics and historical fault data, thus reducing unplanned downtime. In 2024, the turbine availability rate at Cihang Offshore Wind Farm increased by 3.28% year-on-year.
Qianzhan Wind Power Company adheres to the principle of competing for every kilowatt-hour of electricity and seizing the golden power generation periods in spring and winter. It continuously enhances the operational safety of equipment, identifies shortcomings through benchmarking, and steadily improves the economical operation of the wind farm. It strengthens analysis of auxiliary power consumption, digging deeper into energy saving and consumption reduction potential. It enhances equipment inspection and monitoring data analysis, develops data monitoring forms for 4 wind turbine types, and conducts outlier analysis on operational parameters. Throughout the year, 580 warnings were issued, effectively avoiding numerous unplanned shutdowns and power losses. Over the year, 112 fault-related shutdowns were prevented, avoiding energy production loss of approximately 7.5 GWh and significantly improving economic benefits and safety. It strengthened marketing management, established linkage mechanisms with meteorological bureaus and power marketing departments, continuously optimized and corrected wind power forecast models, keenly captured market changes, participated in various transactions, and drove a significant reduction in penalty fees.
Based on internal and regional resources, and considering personnel competency and equipment condition, Qianzhan Wind Power Company systematically implemented targeted training programs like "Strengthening Foundations & Creating Excellence", "Three Basics", and "Thunder Action." Using an interactive "theory + practice" teaching model and detailed reward/punishment rules, it focused on enhancing operation personnel's capabilities in central control operation, equipment inspection, and troubleshooting. In 2024, an operation team received the national power industry's 3A-level "Quality Trustworthy Team" honorary title, and one key member was awarded the Guangdong Provincial Labor Model.
Next, Qianzhan Wind Power Company will build an Eastern Guangdong regional maintenance center to continuously improve O&M management quality and efficiency, develop smart wind farms, and contribute more to promoting regional green, low-carbon development.
