China Power Wins 2025 ESG Excellence Practice Award
From October 24 to 26, 2025, the 3rd ESG China Innovation Annual Conference (2025) & First ESG International Expo was held at the Shougang International Convention & Exhibition Center in Beijing. China Power was invited to participate and was honored with the 2025 ESG Excellence Practice Award. Co-hosted by the China Enterprise Reform and Development Society and Shougang Group, the event brought together over 100 representatives from government bodies, central and state-owned enterprises, leading private companies, foreign companies, and think tanks under the theme "Full-Chain Innovation Leads the Way, Green Transformation Shapes the Future".
During the release ceremony of the 2025 ESG Excellence Practice Report, the case titled "Deepening the Application of ESG Concepts, Empowering a Better Life with Low Carbon—SPIC China Power Drives Sustainable Energy Development through Green Transformation" stood out among 213 submissions nationwide. Through a rigorous multi-stage review process involving preliminary screening, expert assessment, and final committee approval, the case was included in the 2025 ESG Excellence Practice Report and awarded the "2025 ESG Excellence Practice Award". This recognition was based on its systematic practices in green energy transition and ESG governance. The award fully affirms China Power's practical approach of green transformation driving sustainable energy development and underscores SPIC's leadership in ESG and sustainable development. The award-winning case showcases China Power's tangible practices and innovative achievements in ESG.
In public safety, the Safety Emergency Hut Project developed by XYZ Storage, integrating solar power, energy storage, and satellite communication technologies, provided emergency power supply and life support during severe rainstorms in Beijing and the Jishishan earthquake in Gansu, reflecting the company's responsibility as a central state-owned enterprise. In rural revitalization, Pingwei Electric Power Generation Company's fishery-solar hybrid project in Xiejiaji, Anhui Province exemplifies integrated land use, combining floating solar arrays with aquaculture to generate clean power and boost local economies. China Power Huayuan's zero-carbon digital village project in Jiangxiang Village, Jiangsu Province leverages smart energy platforms and comprehensive management systems to create a replicable model of low-carbon, livable communities. Other initiatives—including Jiangmen Integrated Energy Company's rooftop solar power project in Teng County, Guangxi Province, Dabieshan Power Generation Company's 1,000 MW new energy base in Macheng, Hubei Province, and Yaomeng Power Company's solar and desert control project in Dalad Banner, Inner Mongolia—demonstrate China Power's systematic practices and leadership in promoting energy transition and ecological management.
At the exhibition, China Power's booth, themed "Green Empowerment, Smart Win-Win", vividly displayed SPIC and China Power's achievements in sustainable development through physical models, digital screens, and interactive experiences. Visitors could select messages and click to empower the "SPIC ESG Tree" on touchscreens, with each click symbolizing the flourishing growth of the company's ESG practices and conveying SPIC and China Power's steadfast progress on the path of sustainable development. The booth also featured a special display area for agricultural products, offering various local specialties for tasting, highlighting China Power's commitment to supporting industrial development through green energy in an interactive manner.
This excellence marks a new starting point for low-carbon empowerment. China Power will leverage digital-intelligent integration as a new engine, strive wholeheartedly towards the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, and chart a new course in green development.
