China Power Qianzhan Wind Farm Sets New Weekly Generation Record
China Power's Qianzhan wind farm has achieved a historic milestone, recording weekly power generation of 123 GWh as of March 13, 2026—the highest level since the facility was commissioned. During the same period, the wind farm also recorded daily generation above 20 GWh for three consecutive days for the first time.

The record-breaking performance was driven by proactive planning to capitalize on the peak offshore wind season. Leveraging a closed-loop management approach covering evaluation, diagnostics and rectification, the company optimized offshore O&M strategies and implemented targeted measures to improve equipment reliability and generation efficiency. Key initiatives included: (a) Four-dimensional performance evaluation: A comprehensive evaluation framework covering economy, production, environmental, and O&M metrics was launched across three projects, including Shenquan I, utilizing full-spectrum monitoring data to accurately identify underperforming turbines and root causes. (b) Intelligent diagnostics at scale: A dual-model approach combining remote intelligent diagnostics with targeted field inspections during favorable weather windows enabled thorough condition assessments of 116 wind turbines, and customized defect-elimination plans were developed. (c) Precision maintenance: Specialized maintenance programs, including yaw calibration and lightning protection module upgrades, were executed alongside continuous optimization of wind power forecasting models, strengthening coordination with grid dispatch and minimizing power curtailment.
