China Power's Shangqiu Power Plant Successfully Completes 2025–2026 Heating Season

China Power's Shangqiu Power Plant successfully concluded its 2025–2026 district heating season on March 18, 2026, marked by the scheduled shutdown of circulating pumps at its primary heat station.

Over the 123-day heating period, the plant delivered 5.38 million GJ of heat, serving approximately 20 million square meters of residential and key institutional buildings in downtown Shangqiu. The plant maintained an exceptional zero-accident safety record, earning commendations from the Shangqiu Municipal Government, the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau.

As the city's primary heat source, the plant operated under the mandate of "securing livelihoods and delivering quality service" to fulfill its social responsibility as a central enterprise. Dynamic response mechanisms were established for critical periods, including extreme cold snaps, the Spring Festival holiday, and the Two Sessions, and a 24/7 duty system was implemented. Inspection frequency was increased for key facilities such as the primary heat station, trunk pipelines and heat exchange stations. A smart heating network platform enabled real-time monitoring of operating parameters, ensuring rapid response to any anomalies and stable system performance.

The company also introduced a "precision heating + proactive service" model during the season. By analyzing indoor temperature data and user feedback, customized household profiles were established, and tailored solutions were implemented for special areas, including social welfare facilities and high-rise residential buildings. This approach achieved a room temperature compliance rate of 99.8%. Furthermore, service teams provided complimentary filter cleaning and pipeline maintenance for vulnerable populations, including orphaned and disabled children, elderly residents living alone, and low-income households.
