Fijian Ambassador to China Visits China Power’s Hainan Waste-to-Energy Project for Research and Exchange
On May 15, H.E. Robert Lee, Fijian Ambassador to China, visited China Power’s Hainan waste-to-energy project, and conducted on-site investigation and exchange focusing on key topics such as full-cycle risk control of the waste-to-energy projects, efficient unit operation and improvement of operational efficiency.

H.E. Robert Lee and his delegation visited the company’s exhibition hall, main control room, and waste crane control room. They gained an in-depth understanding of Hainan’s achievements in advancing “zero landfill” treatment of municipal solid waste and full-scale waste-to-energy incineration, with particular attention to the specific measures adopted by the power plant to ensure the long-term stable operation of its equipment.
The project leader provided an in-depth analysis of the scientific planning concepts applied during the project design stage, and systematically shared practical experience in quality and safety control during construction, environmental compliance supervision during operation, and the establishment of a refined equipment maintenance system. The leader also gave a detailed introduction to the risk identification and response mechanisms developed by the company.
H.E. Robert Lee spoke highly of the project’s highly automated waste treatment system and its standardized and efficient modern management model, and gained a deeper understanding of the relevant operational experience.
This visit and exchange enhanced the Fijian Embassy in China’s understanding of China Power’s waste-to-energy business. The project demonstrated China Power’s extensive experience and notable achievements in strengthening full-process risk control and improving energy conversion efficiency, as well as its responsibility as a centrally administered state-owned enterprise and its benchmark role in promoting the harmless treatment and resource utilization of municipal solid waste.
Principal representatives from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Haikou Municipal Party Committee and China Power International New Energy Hainan Company Limited accompanied the delegation during the visit.
