China Power Shangqiu Thermal Power Unit 1 Sets New Record for Consecutive Safe Operation Days
As of May 19, Unit 1 of China Power Shangqiu Thermal Power had operated safely for 204 consecutive days, breaking the historical record since the unit was put into operation. Since its grid connection on October 27, 2025, the unit has successfully completed power supply assurance tasks during key periods, including the winter peak-load season, the Spring Festival, and the National Two Sessions, continuously delivering clean and reliable electricity to the regional power grid.

The company has always placed production safety as its top priority. It strictly implements core systems such as the “Two Permits and Three Systems,” supervision of major operations, and pre-control of hazardous points, while rigorously managing personnel operation practices to eliminate all types of violation risks. For critical periods such as power supply assurance during holidays and extreme weather events, the company prepares special plans in advance, refines responsibility allocation, and continuously improves the efficiency of emergency response to unexpected situations.
Meanwhile, the company has implemented an equipment management model combining “routine inspections and special inspections,” conducting 24-hour dynamic monitoring of key equipment and weak areas. It promptly optimizes operating modes to ensure that the unit remains stable and controllable under multiple operating conditions, including deep peak shaving and power supply assurance for peak load, thereby maximizing operational efficiency. The company has also established a closed-loop hazard identification and rectification mechanism covering “inspection, registration, rectification, and closure,” and carries out regular safety hazard inspections, laying a solid foundation for the unit’s long-cycle stable operation.
