China Power Shentou Power Generation Unit 1 Operates Safely for 200 Consecutive Days After DCS Localization Retrofit

As of May 25, Unit 1 of China Power Shentou Power Generating had achieved 200 consecutive days of safe operation following the localization retrofit of its DCS system. All operating parameters remained excellent, and the equipment operated smoothly and reliably, marking the complete success of the DCS localization retrofit.

The DCS system is the "central brain" of a thermal power unit and is directly related to control precision and operational safety. To further ensure equipment operating safety, the company responded to the national call for the localization and substitution of equipment in the energy sector and launched a DCS localization upgrade and retrofit project in September 2025. During the retrofit, the company strictly followed the construction plan in carrying out circuit verification, logic optimization, equipment installation, and integrated commissioning and testing. It refined safety control measures, strictly controlled construction quality, repeatedly verified control logic, and eliminated equipment defects one by one, ensuring that the retrofit proceeded efficiently and in an orderly manner. After the unit was successfully put into operation, the company closely monitored system conditions, continuously tracked operating data, and promptly optimized operating modes to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

After 200 days of practical operation, the domestic DCS system has demonstrated rapid control response, stable regulation accuracy, smooth and user-friendly operating interface, as well as accurate and efficient start-up and shutdown, load adjustment, and fault handling of the unit. The system has effectively reduced equipment failure rates, significantly improved the unit’s automated control level, and verified the reliability and adaptability of the domestic control system.
