#8 Unit of China Power's Pingwei Phase IV Project Successfully Completes 168-Hour Full-Load Trial Operation

As of 17:18 on May 29, # 8 unit of the Pingwei Phase IV Project, in which China Power holds an equity interest and which it constructed and operates, successfully completed the 168-hour full-load trial operation and officially entered commercial operation. With this milestone, the supporting power source project under Anhui Province's 14th Five-Year Plan has been fully completed and put into operation. Pingwei Power Generation's installed capacity has increased to 6540 MW, ranking third nationwide in terms of thermal power installed capacity.

The project has a total investment of approximately RMB 8 billion. It involves the construction of two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical double-reheat coal-fired generating units, along with supporting high-efficiency environmental protection facilities for denitrification, desulfurization, and dust removal. Upon full completion, the project will be able to deliver more than 33 billion kWh of electricity annually to the East China Power Grid, meeting the annual electricity demand of approximately 12 million households. It will further address regional power supply shortage, enhance the grid's emergency power supply assurance and cross-regional power dispatching capabilities, and help transform Huainan's coal resource advantages into electricity supply advantages for the Yangtze River Delta.

Since the project commenced construction in March 2024, China Power's Pingwei Power Generation has consistently adhered to the principles of "high-standard design, high-standard construction, and high-quality commissioning," steadily advancing all project milestones. During the 168-hour trial operation of #8 unit, it operated stably, with both the protection system availability rate and automatic control availability rate reaching 100%. All technical performance indicators and environmental emission indicators met the design standards and national regulatory requirements.
