Yaomeng Power Generation Company Obtained a National Utility Model Patent for Its Innovations in Energy Technology
On June 23, Yaomeng Power Generation Company was granted a national utility model patent for its independently developed "A Novel Anti-Clogging Device for Load Cell of Coal Feeder". This innovation precisely resolves the long-standing problem of coal clogging in coal-fired power units, providing a robust technical safeguard for the safe and stable operation of the units while enhancing their quality and efficiency.

Load cells of coal feeders are the core components for fuel metering in coal-fired power units, and their accuracy directly affects the combustion conditions of boilers and the stability of unit loads. For a long time, hard lumps mixed in with the raw coal are likely to become lodged in the gaps between the load cells and the idlers, causing misalignment of load cells, inaccurate coal metering, and damage to sensor probes. Troubleshooting these issues requires shutting down the mill and clearing the hopper, which takes a considerable amount of time each time, thereby increasing the operations and maintenance workload and resulting in a loss of power generation load.
To address this production issue, the company formed a task team of technical experts. The team closely monitored the trajectory of falling coal and the coal clogging patterns throughout the process, repeatedly simulated and optimized the protective structure, and produced seven versions of design drawings before finally developing a brand-new anti-clogging device solution. The device adds curved, fan-shaped protective plates to the existing protective structure. It leverages the deflecting properties of the curved surface to allow large, hard objects to slide off naturally, thereby eliminating the risk of damaging the core components of load cells at the source. The associated magnetic, flexible protective sleeves can float up and down with the idlers, providing dynamic protection under all operating conditions. The entire device requires no modifications to the existing equipment structure and can be installed using only bolts, making it easy to modify and highly adaptable.
The device has already been modified on #5 Unit of the company. This modification reduces the cost of spare parts and minimizes unnecessary mill shutdowns, thereby increasing the unit’s effective power generation time.
